The Burgh Island Hotel is an iconic Devon landmark, a shining white ocean liner, moored on its own tidal island, surrounded by golden beaches and silver seas. Built in 1929, extended in 1932 the Hotel has been restored to its 1930s glamour making the Burgh Island Hotel a retreat like no other.
Having completed works at The Pilchards Inn on Burgh Island we were asked to complete the refurbishment of the Hotel Kitchen. The Chef played a pivotal role in this project by designing the new kitchen layout; and by utilising some existing equipment in conjunction with new we were able to bring his vision to life and deliver the project on time, and on budget.
Working on this Island can be tricky due to access issues and all works on the island have to be planned whilst consulting Tide Timetables as you have to drive across a sand causeway at low tide, using four wheel- drive vehicles.
In addition to the kitchen during works we also upgraded the hotels dish-wash area and designed supplied and installed a new Extraction and Fresh Air System.
