Old Coastguard Hotel, Mousehole

‘Like a Phoenix from the ashes’

This is The Old Coastguard, a seaside hotel in the fishing village of Mousehole, near the beaches and gardens of West Cornwall, the Minack Theatre and the artists’ studios of Newlyn, Penzance and St. Ives.

In 2019 it suffered a devastating fire. Owners Charles and Edmund Inkin called in our sister company Cornwall Catering Equipment to consult, design and specify a replacement commercial kitchen.

Our brief was to encompass all the elements required for a busy restaurant kitchen in a limited space originally comprising several smaller rooms, and true to form in a traditional Cornish building, not a square wall in sight!

Following submission of our designs and proposals we were delighted to be awarded the contract. Our clients chose Electrolux Professional 900 series as the basis for the prime cooking suite, due to its solid construction, flexibility of configuration and value for money.

We worked closely with architect, main contractor and all appointed trades to deliver the finished kitchen on time and to the client’s complete satisfaction for handover in March 2020.

As you can agree, it looks absolutely stunning!
